What I'm Watching #67

Queens is a comedy from Spain that traces the complicated intertwining of the lives of 3 gay couples and five of the young men's mothers, fathers, mother's lovers, father's lovers, and dog. It's funny and fun and a tad bit sappy. It's a mixture of the comedy found in "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" with that found in "Radio Days". The boys provide lots of eye candy, and actors playing the mom's represent some of the best the modern Spanish cinema has to offer.

In the accompanying featurette of the making of the movie, you hear the cast declare how much fun they had making the movie, and that's also part of it's charm. Thumbs up for Queens.
