A relatively quiet week for polls with none issued from Sunday through Wednesday, but the end of the week gave both candidates something to be thankful for. McCain saw the numbers strengthen in Mississippi and Montana moved into his column from Obama's, if just barely. McCain's numbers softened in Ohio and the two candidates split two of the three tied states: McCain took Missouri while Obama came out on top in Florida, a position in the polls in the Sunshine state that he last held in early June. McCain picked up 14 EC Votes, and Obama posted a net gain of 24 EC Votes.
