Filmed in 1996, "Green Plaid Shirt" is a film created to tell the story of a group of gay men facing the full force of the AIDS epidemic just prior to the onset of AZT and the battery of drug cocktails that have brought so many back from the brink of death and prolonged the onset of AIDS for others by decades, now.
Curiously, the DVD opens with an apology from the producers for the crude nature of the film. And I thought, "Oh, great, another looser!" But, hey, it isn't at all. It's a decent little film that communicates it's message with tenderness and grace.
