"Rag Tag" is the dream child of Nigerian screenwriter and director, Adaora Nwandu. Her vision crafts a fresh tale of two young immigrant men: one from Nigeria and the other Jamaica. Raymond, a. k. a. "Rag" is from his friend, Tagbo by social services at the age of 12. At 23 he returns to the old neighborhood in search of his childhood friend, and from their reunion sets into motion a story of friendship and love that takes the two all the way to Nigeria in search of understanding. Nwandu does a wonderful job of presenting a range of characters who's live defy stereotypes. Her deft handling of the women and the two protagonists in the story provides a refreshing perspective in story telling. I really enjoyed this one.
