Cuba Redux

I am thrilled by President Obama's decision to normalize relations with Cuba! It is a move WAY LONG OVER DUE. US policy toward Cuba is a dinosaur from a bygone era of the Cold War. It is punitive without any options for redemption. It denies the very lessons learned from our previous and ongoing diplomatic rapprochement with nations like China, Russian, Burma, Viet Nam, Nicaragua...etc. And it's based on kissing up to a handful of wealthy exiles (and now often their children) who have used the United States as an agent of their vengeance for way too long. "Cuba" as an ideology has a lot more to fear from our friendship than they ever did from our animosity!
