Maryland Zoo, Chapter 8: Caribbean Flamingoes, Black-tailed Prairie Dogs and Alpaca.

Three species from odd places along the visit.  These Caribbean Flamingoes, Pheonicopterus ruber ruber, are one of the two major species that call the America's home.  Their southern hemisphere cousins, the Chilean Flamingo, are notably less scarlet in their plumage.

Prairie Dog town is the first exhibit visitors encounter upon arriving.  This colony of Black-tailed Prairie Dogs, Cynomys ludovicianus is a healthy 2-dozen plus in membership.

For the first time I went to the Farm area.  Not much to see really.  Some lovely Alpaca, Vicugna pacos hanging out under shed.
