Virginia Zoological Park, part 8: African Okavango Delta #4

Rounding out the last part of the zoo's African Okavango Delta was firstly a chance to see the future.  Two days before my visit the zoo receives a new pair of White Rhinoceros from the Singapore Zoo, and area that will be their new home was empty but generous.  Leaving there and creating the next "ridge" brought you to the African Lion habitat, but the cats were not interested in being on display.  They were out, and chose to be out of site.  Gotta respect that.

The final path led behind their enclosure and through a corridor of faux rocks with smaller enclosures of various sorts.  Fennec Foxes and Chameleons among them.  I found two of the animals more amenable to viewing.
Radiated Tortoise, Astrochelys radiata

Slender-tailed Meerkat, Suricata suricata
