"Love Birds" is a Filipino movie from Ronaldo Bertubin. The story is engaging if somewhat stilted in the way that a film without an accomplished editor ends up being awkward in spots. The acting is by and large professional and the story is so sweet that it makes up for the otherwise amateurish flaws. It is the story of how the third son of a middle class family finds love and escapes the bonds of his mother's expectations. In the end, even she is made into a more whole person. Like I said, the story redeems in buckets. And there are moments when even the dialogue astounds one for the better. Need to feel good?--this is your feel good picture.
And I really want the "car" that Ton Ton drove!
