Cherry Blossom Festival in DC: Some 5 K run....

All I wanted to do was take my friend to see the cherry blossoms and we got stuck in a line ... a LONG LINE ... of runners doing some 5 K.  I swear there's a 5 K on The Mall every weekend and twice on Sundays!  Sheeeesh...
