East African Savanna: The Birds

The size of the East Africa Savanna Orb allows for a wide variety of birds and selections were made to highlight members of species found in the Old World in particular like flycatchers, bee-eaters, barbets, rollers, and shrikes. Visitors from the Americans well also discover robins, buntings, finch and starlings. While no display of birds from this region would be complete without the spectacular Gray Crowned Crane, there is not member of the ostrich family included. Those who wish to see these magnificent animals will find two species available, one in the Sahara Desert Oasis Orb and one in the Great Karoo/Cape of Good Hope Orb. The latter being attached to the East Africa Savanna orb.
