Taming of the Shrew at STC in DC

Shakespeare Theater Company's production of "Taming of the Shrew" was so fantastic! They turned it into a steam punk musical using the music of Duncan Sheik in an all male production.
Sydney Harmon Hall, the main Shakespeare Theatre Company venue is located directly across from the Verizon Convention Center in DC.

Before the show the two story lobby was transformed into a venetian market with the cast in full costume mingling and engaging guests. Some of the cast performed minstrel music.

Four press photos of the actual production.

Intermission came after the wedding scene and the audience was invited onto the stage to celebrate the wedding with the cast.

To my delight, I discovered that Terry Leung was playing Lucentio! He had a leading role in the "Allegiance" and performed in "Rent" and "Godspell" on Broadway, and was also a regular member of the Warblers on Glee. At the end I emerged and he was standing right there with the actor who played Bianca and I had the opportunity to speak briefly with both. I also walked over to the actor who played "Kate" and thanked him for an amazing performance, too.
