Movies have all kinds of dimensions that capture our imaginations. There are production values, sets, costumes, special effects. There are incredible storylines, and amazing performances. But there is one that I think really can trump the others: Heart. Take a descent story, find the cast who's ensemble qualities click, place it in an authentic setting and stand back.
This is must see independent cinema. The performances are endearing, the leads: Jesse Garcia, Emily Rios and Chalo González are a joy to watch. And if you're half the man I am, you'll need lots of kleenex!
