For years I have visited the Maryland Zoo in Druid Hill Park and upon entering the park turned left to the zoo while seeing this amazing structure on the right.  Though well-kept, it always looked unoccupied and so I didn't give it much attention.  What a wonderful thing to discover that it's a conservatory and botanical gardens.

 The first house features a more formal garden-scape with plants from Mediterranean climates from Italy and Greece to southern California, South Africa and Australia.

 The Tropical House has a mouser!  He was quite the affectionate fellow, too.

 My beloved Audrey has a cousin in the Tropical House!
