They're back!

They're back...and four years early.  After a couple of centuries of stoic clockwork cycles of return, cicada's have started appearing earlier than their traditional brood years.  Why?  Global WARMING! So, here in the Washington, D.C. region our 2021 brood of 17 year cycling cicadas had arrived in 2017...
