It's been a real DVD weekend. "2 x 4" is essentially an Irish film shot in both Dublin and New York, but set in New York. It was produced in 1998; but feels like something out of the 1970's. The plot is another pshycholoical/sexual struggle. The lead bats for both teams, but due to a dark secret from his childhood spends most of his time on the bench.
It's a so-so film. The lead is played by its writer/director/producer...which explains a lot. Sometimes one man's dream is genius and sometimes it's just myopic.
