What I'm Listening to #81
Julie London reached her peek of success in the 1950's. Her voice is not the powerhouse of say an Ella Fitzgerald, nor does it have the enigmatic qualities of a Billie Holiday. The beauty is in the subtle sultry intimacy. And the songs on "Around Midnight" allowed her to express this most magnificently. A forgotten treasure, and a lucky find.
