"Shank" is a film from the United Kingdom. It's the story of Cal and his journey from gang banger to out gay man. It's a little more violent than the normal movie I go in for, and it turned out to be a whole lot more interesting a story than I initially expected. The creators treat their characters with respect and though they find a way to resolve the main storyline (that avoid cliché), they leave others wide open. And even the characters you're most inclined to hate, you also feel sorry for. Time well spent, talent worth watching out for.
