On the evening of December 17, 2009, 18 year old Joseph McElderry of South Side, United Kingdom became the 4th winner of the BBC talent show, The X Factor. From the beginning of competition, Joseph won hearts all across the U.K. and on that fateful night, he received in excess of 19 million votes.
And on July 30, 2010 he posted this message to his website. a scant 6 weeks after his 19th birthday, he wanted to tell his fans that he is gay. In this day and age, it's still a courageous act. Add to this the fact that he's adorable and talented and well, it doesn't get much better in my book.From week one of The X Factor competition.
