What I'm Reading #41
Just finished another historical tour de force by Sarah Vowell, "Unfamiliar Fishes" about the colonization and eventual annexation of the Hawaiian Islands by the United States. Basically Hawaii from Captain Cook to Governor Dole. It's a fascinating look at a rather obscure aspect of United States and global history, but told with such a savvy spirit and rich with primary sources so as to be utterly interesting from stem to stern.
