kids just love music so much, and believe that music created in a time of racial oppression is no less worthy of preserving and enjoying on it's own merits that they have

given us all a gift. Like a language threatened with extinction, the music on these wonderful CD's gives us an unfettered view into a troubled past wherein the music was no less amazing and valid.

That's the political take on what they do. The aesthetic point of view is that it's just some damn fine music!
