United States Federal District Courts: Gender Bias

In my continued exploration of the U.S. District court system here's a graphic that I made to show the percentages of female judges in the various districts. The number of judges in a district vary from just one in places like Guam and the Northern Marianas Islands to 28 in the District of Southern California and the District of Southern New York.
The population of the United States is around 53% female; the courts average 31% and shaded in black, 11 districts or 12% of the courts have no female justices. 10 or 11% of the districts have percentages equal to or higher than the national average of women. The gray areas represent empty seats in the districts as of today, June 8, 2014.
