Today's Sermon
When I signed for her ashes
I received her, as once
she received me
into her lyric hold
and let me ride anchor there,
smaller than the letter alif.
They gave her into my hands,
seven pounds, two ounces,
as once they had given
me into her hands.
I set her on the hearth shrine,
as she set me once a place at her table,
among her other needy charities.

to tidal squalls that rip

My neighbor asked me how I would cook the little duffers once they were ready. Cook? Oh my, no. EAT. Fresh little drops of Mother Nature's goodness--A unique glimpse of paradise.

BROWNED COUNTY CUT PORK WITH MANGO SHALLOT BEURRE SAUCE AND STEAMED BROCCOLI
Made this one up on the spur of the moment. Bought the pork without deciding what to do with it and found the broccoli in the veggie bin with a smattering of other greens.
The key is the Beurre Sauce. Literally butter sauce which is easy and totally versatile. You need two essential ingredients and then the sky is the limit. An Acid (usually wine) and a Base (Butter) form the foundation.
For this iteration, I placed in a sauce pan 1 large shallot chopped lengthwise and 10 pieces of frozen mango cut into into tinier bits. Dowsed them with vermouth, say .25 of a cup and some organic Florida cane sugar, say 1 Tbsp. I don't measure... Bring to a slow boil and stir while reducing liquid by half or so. Off the burner add 2 Tbsps butter and stir until melted and mixed--IMPORTANT, you do not want to bring the butter to boil. I finally cranked in some freshly ground black pepper to give it a little bite.
This is a sweeter version, but savory versions are just as wonderful. I've seen it done with tiny plum tomatoes, onions, salt & pepper, and freshly chopped parsley. Also for use on pork, but this is a sauce that can be tailored for chicken or fish, too! Experiment and have fun in the kitchen!

For the past several winters, by Thyme has survived to resurrect in the spring, and with each rebirth has grown hardier and more amazing. Now, it's blooms are what impresses the most.

Lego Rennovation Complete
My project to transform the finished half of my basement into a Lego dedicated space is finally complete--in the infrastructure, not the lego city!
I make the set a pictures starting at the bottom of the stairs and then work my way around. You can see the lego creations that I presently have--some models from lego, most of which I have modified, and most my own complimentary creations.
The laptop atop my Opera House is there for it's connection to the internet. Mostly playing Tetu Radio vie Goom from Paris, or rebroadcasts of the Stephanie Miller show.

Keralot Shalom, My First Lego Synagogue
My idea was to combine both Middle Eastern and eastern European sensibilities into a structure with traditional architectural motifs.
