When I taught middle school back in Kentucky, we had a period with out homerooms called "Exploritory". The content of instruction was totally up to the teacher. During one quarter of instruction I taught my students how to sew and made a quilt. The first time I did this, it was highlighted in an article in the Lexington Herald-Leader and that led to being invited to display our quilt at the Kentucky Horse Park during their annual quilt show. These photos are from the opening of that event and some of the students who came with to represent our class.
Me with the five students who came to the opening with me.
We were joined by one of the mom's, too.
Other quilts in the show.
