Chrysler Museum of Art: Special Exhibition--Toulouse-Lautrec
The special exhibition at the Chrysler was a show of images from the French artist Toulouse-Lautrec. Not his paintings so much, but works from his years of producing posters for the Paris art scene. A nice focused show with plenty of images of the contemporary and antecedent works that influenced him and he influenced in return.
While posters were the focus, I focused on the pencil sketches.
I was born on a bitterly cold end of January night in the year 1961. It was seven years to the day after the birth of Oprah Winfrey, and one year before the death of Robert Frost on that same day. Cool associations both.
I was the first child of older parents (my mother was 42). I love the color yellow. I am single, and fascinated with life.
