These five peacemakers bring to 90 the total that have been commemorated in this series. Collectively they gave their lives for bringing to others the right to be free from gender bias, educational depravation, religious intolerance, economic slavery, racial discrimination, and denial of speech freedoms. To have peace we must be free to fulfill our individual potentials without having that right made subservient to a larger concern be it cultural, social, economic or governmental. No institution, no idea, holds supremacy over an individual's right to self-actualize.
