London Olympics Redux: Judo
Judo has become a very popular sport in the Olympics in a relatively short time. It first appeared with just four events in 1964 Tokyo, and then was scheduled in 1968 Mexico City. 1972 Munich gave the sport a second chance and it's been part of the Olympics ever since the categories going from six in 1972 to the fourteen that have represented the sport at the past six Olympics.
The top three dominant nations, Russia, Japan, and France speak to the sports wide popularity. 2012 London saw Colombia win its first medal in this sport.
