Spring Break Redux: Chicago Layover part 2 - the Art Institute of Chicago

Truly on of the nations greatest art museums.  After visiting the Cultural Center, Dean and I walked to the Art Institute through Millennium Park.

Our destination was the Van Gogh exhibition on display at the Art Institute.  We would also meet up with my longtime friends, JD and Nick.  The exhibit was wonderful.  Not huge.  Very focused.  Very well conceived and presented.

It also included a nice amount of related works by Van Gogh.  I found this painting particularly interesting.

The focus of the exhibition was a trio of paintings of Van Gogh's bedrooms.  The exploration of every aspect of their conception and execution was also well documented and intriguing.

It was a great time with old and new friends.
